FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Can I pack things that need to be cooked or heated?

A: No. We ask that the lunch sent is ready to eat upon opening the lunch container as we often eat outdoors and on picnics around the neighborhood. Please be sure to include an ice pack in lunches that need to be kept cold.

Q: Can I pack treats in my child's lunchbox?

A: No. We ask that you keep all treats at home please unless we have given permission to send along a class treat for a special
occasion! Our reasoning for this is that there are never enough for everyone so unless there is it does not seem like it would serve our group to have one child fixated on their treat while the others watch and also long to have one.

Q: Does my child need to be potty trained to attend your program?

A: No. We welcome children who are still in diapers or in training. We offer a couple different styles of potty chairs for use and can facilitate bathroom breaks and diaper changes throughout our time together.

Q: Do the children in your care nap there?

A: Yes. Starting this fall, once we offer full days then we will be offering a nap/ quiet time.

Q: Can I send along my child's pacifier?

A: No. While we want to meet the unique needs of each child in our care, we also feel that with the age range that we are enrolling (2+) the children should be totally capable of experiencing our days together without soothers of any kind.

We offer plenty of warmth and it's truly a short day for the children.

Q: Does my family have to be into Waldorf or aware of what that is in order to be a part of this program?

A: Not at all. This is a gentle, loving, creative and safe place for children and their families. We are also not Waldorf exclusive. People who want their children to have a small group experience, friendship, take home crafts and nurturing come to us. We aren't going to judge our
clientele based on how alike or aligned we are in our approaches to early childhood education. However, there is a greater sense of magic when families feel aligned with our practice and when a child has the consistency of rhythmic days, open ended toys, artistic  and nature based experiences and activities that move with/ honor the seasons.

Q: What kind of gear does my child need to participate in this program?

A: The children attending Orb Weaver Preschool will need to be sent with gear for every type of seasonal weather.
